Amusements
Real Player
I saw this one day on a user's PC. My first thought
was, "What the hell did this guy install? What's this blinking blue 'i' in
his system tray?" I mouse over it, to see the screenshot below.

So I double click on the 'i' and voila, the culprit has
shown it's face! Like I couldn't tell something this obnoxious was from
RealPlayer.

So I said to myself, "I bet I can speed up his computer
300% all by myself without any help from RealPlayer."
To do that, step through the following instructions:
- If RealPlayer isn't already open, open it by selecting
it from the Start menu, or double clicking one of the annoying RealPlayer
icons in your system tray.
- Under View, Select Preferences
- On the General tab, look for a section entitled
"StartCenter". Click the Settings button under
StartCenter.
- On the StartCenter Settings tab, if there
is a check next to Enable StartCenter, uncheck it.
- When a popup window appears asking you to reconsider
RealPlayer's "benefits" and asks you if you're sure you want to do this, click
YES.
- Click OK until you are back to the main
RealPlayer window.
- Then close the damned thing.
That's the best way I know to speed up your computer up to 300%!
